What are Kaas terminals made of?

They are machined from heat-treated 6061-T6 aluminum alloy — a strong, lightweight, corrosion-resistant aircraft-grade material.

What is 6061-T6 aluminum and why does it matter?

6061-T6 is a heat-treated aluminum alloy known for its strength, machinability and corrosion resistance. It lets the terminal hold tight clamping force without cracking or deforming.

Are Kaas terminals CNC-machined?

Yes. Every terminal is CNC-machined in Kaas's own Taiwan factory, which gives a precise, repeatable fit you do not get from mass-produced cast clamps.

What is the anodized finish for?

Anodizing adds a hard, corrosion-resistant layer and gives the colored models their red and blue finish. It protects the terminal against the harsh under-hood environment.

Will these corrode over time?

The anodized aluminum strongly resists corrosion — a key advantage over bare lead or steel clamps, which oxidize and build up resistance.

Why is the contact area not anodized?

Anodizing is an insulating layer, so Kaas removes it precisely where the post and cable make contact. This "conductive zone" design ensures clean, low-resistance current flow.

Where are Kaas products manufactured?

In Kaas's own CNC milling factory in Taiwan — with full in-house production and strict quality control, rather than outsourced mass manufacturing.

Are Kaas designs patented?

Kaas top-post battery terminals are patent-pending. The designs are original to Kaas, not generic clones.
