What cable gauges do Kaas terminals accept?
A wide range — from 8 AWG up to 4/0 (XL) AWG. That covers everything from light accessory wiring to heavy welding-style battery cable.
Can I use these with 4/0 welding cable?
Yes. Kaas terminals are rated to accept 4/0 (XL) AWG cable, and the 12-way terminal is sized to fit 00 (2/0) AWG welding cable snugly.
What does "8 AWG to 4/0 AWG" mean?
AWG is American Wire Gauge — the lower the number, the thicker the cable. 8 AWG is a thin accessory wire and 4/0 ("four-aught") is very heavy cable. Kaas terminals clamp anything in that range.
Can I mix different cable gauges in one terminal?
Yes. Each hole clamps independently, so you can run a heavy main cable and thinner accessory leads in the same terminal, as long as each cable falls within the 8 AWG to 4/0 range.
Do these work with fine-strand welding cable?
Yes. The clamp design grips fine-strand welding cable as well as standard battery cable. For the cleanest connection, keep the cable within the rated gauge range.
